On October 30th, 2015, our sub-project, “PAX,” wanting to help mothers raising children here, held its second program – “Let’s make autumnal aromatic treatment cream.” The instructor was Ms. Hiromi Sato, a specialist in aroma therapy.aroma1

First, the instructor gave an explanation of each and every kind of aromatic oil that had been prepared. Each participant then chose her favorite fragrances. The mothers seemed to be speaking to themselves as they chose their favorite oils. Interestingly, every participant chose different fragrances.aroma2aroma3Consulting the instructor, each mother chose from two to four oils, which they then mixed with beeswax, macadamia nut oil, and crystal. Thus each participant made her own aromatic treatment cream.

After the creams were done, the instructor gave the mothers a hand massage with an oil containing lemongrass. Her caring massage warmed the participants, both physically and emotionally. They had a good time of healing. Ms. Sato kindly taught them how to do the hand massage. Some mothers said they wanted to try it on their families.aroma4aroma5

To conclude, the sub-project’s staff served them handmade madeleine (cake) that they baked themselves, along with tea. Over the tea and cake, the women enjoyed conversation in an elegant, out-of-the-ordinary atmosphere.

This program of “PAX” succeeded in bringing smiles to mothers busy raising their children. The sub-project hopes to provide opportunities for both mothers and children where they can relax and smile.
